FIRST STEPS
There are SO MANY resources out there for beginning bloggers. It’s frustrating to navigate through and pick the good ones from the bad. The courses I found at Create and Go are JAM PACKED with tasty morsels for your mind!!! I have learned a TON is such a short amount of time. Writing is not one of my strongest points! I CANNOT wait to save up and get this course! This writing course “features video instruction, master classes with acclaimed travel writers and editors, detailed tips on editing with example pieces, creating a story, research, sample pitch letters and book proposals, quarterly webinars, and personalized feedback on your work.” I’m convinced this is the one for me!
My oldest daughter is a professional photographer. Now, I don’t have to be a professional, but for less than $100, I can learn how to take better pics. Again, I haven’t taken this course, but I will as soon as I can. It teaches techniques from basic camera how-tos, all the way to advanced photography techniques. To top that off, this course even teaches some monetization tips for your photography!
Videography…ugh! I know…it’s almost MANDATORY anymore. I’ve read that it’s a must for serious travel blogs. I have scoured through countless YouTube videos looking for secrets and tips. This is yet another course for me to do as soon as time and money permit. It covers everything from filming videos, on-camera presence, post-production, to channel growth. YouTuberss Nadine Sykora and Kristen Sarah teach the course.

Once you are ready to start your blog, you will need some basic tools. Everyone blog needs a name, hosting, and a theme. As you grow your blog, you will also need to begin email marketing. Here are the tools we use for this.

It’s powerful Fusion Builder makes even the hardest tasks simple! If Avada isn’t for you, ThemeForest has TONS of other themes available for your blog!
If you want to make money blogging, you simply MUST use email marketing! It has been said that “the money is in the list!” With ConvertKit, you can design forms easily, embed them on your site without breaking a sweat, and use multiple forms on each page. It has TONS of benefits over MailChimp, but too many to list here! 🙂
