As citizens of the southern U.S., it’s almost obligatory to go to the Gulf Coast at least once per year (this is purely my opinion anyway). Over the years, our preferred location in “The Redneck Riviera” has become Gulf Shores, AL. This year, we decided to do spring break about an hour closer to home in Biloxi, MS. So how did we end up at Gulf Beach RV Resort, here we go…
GULF BEACH RV RESORT
Our best friends saw a restaurant on tv that they wanted to try and scoped out RV parks near that restaurant. This is LITERALLY how we ended up in Biloxi. I’ll do a post soon about things to do in Biloxi, but for now, let’s stick to the review of Gulf Beach RV Resort.
First things first, you can find their website here. They also have a great gallery here which kind of gives you a feel for how close it is to the beach. Now, let’s talk about the park!
CAMPGROUNDS/CLEANLINESS
This park is brand spanking new. Everything in the park is pristine. They keep it well-maintained as far as landscaping and keeping the trash picked up. It IS a pet-friendly park with a small dog park in the back, but it doesn’t smell like pets and everyone seems to clean up well after them.
AMENITIES
Gulf Beach RV Resort is practically RIGHT ON the beach. That is my FAVORITE!!! *All pictures borrowed from Gulf Beach RV Resort’s website with permission.
They have an inground heated pool, that has a HUGE deck where they often have live music during the busy season (or so I’m told…we were a few weeks early for that). The free satellite TV that worked just fine when we did decide to stay in and chill.
There is an on-site laundromat, as well as a Waffle House basically on the property.
It also has a really nice clubhouse where you can go for your morning coffee or write your blog post! 🙂 We actually spoke to the park manager and asked if we could stay in the clubhouse after hours to watch the NCAA basketball tournament and play games. I think we finally left the facility around 11 p.m.
Each site had full hookups for 30/50 amp campers. The lots were also concrete and therefore level.
BATH HOUSE
The bath house is inside of the clubhouse. It had great his and hers facilities with a GREAT massaging showerhead. Both the shower and the bathrooms were also handicapped ready.
CELL SIGNAL
Since the park is right in town, there were no problems at all with our cell signals. Both our friends and we had a great cell signal. They have AT&T and we have Verizon.
INTERNET/WIFI
The free wifi worked fine through most hours of the day. During the evenings, it was a little slower, but that’s to be expected. I had no complaints about it working from the clubhouse.
NEARBY ACTIVITIES
Maybe you like to vacation differently than we do, but we go to the beach FOR the beach. Our idea of a great beach vacation is hanging out at the beach, enjoying the water, the sunrises, and sunset, and people watching. There is a busy street to cross to get to the beach, but it’s near enough to a cross-walk to get across the street.
If you need a little more excitement, there are casinos (including Hard Rock Cafe, Beau Rivage, Margaritaville, and others), restaurants, and nearby attractions. All of the casinos advertise live music for the coming weeks, but there wasn’t any the week we were there.
There’s a HUGE coliseum (Mississippi Coast Coliseum & Convention Center) within walking distance to the RV park, so if a concert was in town, you could just walk to the Coliseum.
You can rent jet skis, kayaks, and water trikes right across the street from the park.
There’s also a fun park nearby that has mini golf, bowling, and an arcade.
All of the restaurants we went to were FANTASTIC!
STAFF
The staff was SO FRIENDLY and accommodating. Our AC actually went out in our car on the way down and we had to have it repaired at a dealership. We had to stay an extra night and were worried about them not having enough room for us. They assured us a place to stay and made sure we were comfy while we stayed! I can’t say enough about how nice they are!
PRICE
Since we have a small rig (21′), our price was SUPER reasonable…especially considering how close we were to the beach. I think we paid less than $300 for 7 nights. They have weekly rates as well as monthly rates. Of course, if your rig is bigger, I believe they charge more.
OVERALL
Overall, I would DEFINITELY stay again. Some of the tenants in the apartments behind there had loud stereo music late at night, but that was more of a nuisance than anything. That was LITERALLY the ONLY thing I didn’t like about the park!

Pros
- Brand new campgrounds, everything is well taken care of and pride of ownership is obvious.
- Lots to do nearby, especially if you love the beach!
- Pet friendly.
- Everything from the park itself to the facilities, pool & washroom are picture perfect.
- Staff was outrageously nice!
- Cell service and wifi worked like a charm.
- Great clubhouse, we were even allowed to play games in it after closing hours one night, which was awesome.
Cons
- 100% concrete park. If you love trees, this place isn't for you.
- Apartment complex RIGHT behind the park. Even though this is a negative, it's not in the park owner's control. Not their fault!
- Small spaces.
