Our normal camping buddies had a weekend planned in Mountain View, AR in mid-September. We had originally turned them down when invited but found ourselves open for the weekend, so we changed our minds and decided to join them! The RV park they had reserved their spot in was full, so we had to scramble for a place to stay and turned to Google to find one.
Ozark RV Park is where we landed! It was a couple of miles down the road from where they were, but this turned out to be just fine. We still managed to spend time with them, as well ask having Glynn’s dad out for a night at our camp! It was a GREAT place to stay…honestly, there wasn’t anything we disliked about the place!
RV PARK – HAPPY ACCIDENTS!
We ended up LOVING Ozark RV Park! It was a VERY clean place to stay, with nice staff, FANTASTIC location, PERFECT cell signal, and had full hookups! You just can’t ask for much more than that! We actually found out the place was for sale and thought about buying it, but that’ll have to wait for another day!
UPDATE:
We went back in April 2018. I didn’t realize the first time around how small the lots are. I’d say it’s still a great place to camp, just know ahead of time that the camp sites are pretty small. It’s proximity to the Pickin’ Park and Town Square still make it worth the stay!
Let’s get to the review:
CAMPGROUNDS/CLEANLINESS 10/10:
This park was IMMACULATE! We found out during our weekend there that it is run by three couples who split the effort to keep the camp clean, mowed, and otherwise maintained. I can’t imagine any way that it could’ve been better as it seemed there was always someone driving by with a mower or golf cart checking up on things! The RV park wasn’t paved, so if you tend to go barefoot (which I do…OFTEN), you’ll need your Chacos or other sturdy soled shoes!
AMENITIES 8/10:
I know, you just can’t have the perfect place…all in one place…but this one is close though! I gave this RV Park an 8/10 for amenities. It has everything Glynn and I are looking for, but if we had little kids with us, I think we’d find this park lacking. There was a nice bath house nearby with decent showers. It also had a coin laundromat on campus, which we did use. The RV park also had a little multi-purpose room where they held church on Sunday morning, and had activities in it for the rest of the week. There was a nice, large field if you wanted to walk your dog in the grass. There was no playground, pool, or river, but we were ok with that because we were there on a music festival weekend, which meant we’d be in town all weekend.
BATH HOUSE:
The bath house in the RV Park was nice. If you are so inclined not to use the bathroom in your camper, you are never far from the bath house at any point in the park. it was centrally located. As mentioned earlier, everything is kept clean and well maintained by the staff. Even if you detect a problem, all you have to do is alert the staff to it and they’ll take care of it immediately.
CELL SIGNAL:
If you’ve seen any of my other reviews, you may be aware that no cell signal and no wi-fi are among my biggest pet peeves! If not, then be advised: I HATE BEING UNPLUGGED! Part of that is because I run a business that depends on me being able to be reached. The other part is because…I LIKE USING MY PHONE! 🙂 The cell signal at this RV Park was FANTASTIC! I never had any issues at all either making a call or text, or receiving a call or text. It was AH-MAZING!
INTERNET/WI-FI:
This was actually the first time that we were able to hook up our cable TV (of which, I promptly decided I wasn’t a fan). Their cable/internet/Wi-Fi was great! We picked up several channels, had fast upload and download speeds which actually allowed me to work on the blog while my hubby took a nap! It was pretty much just like home.
NEARBY ACTIVITIES:
The only reason I didn’t give this RV park a 10/10 for nearby activities is because you have to drive a little farther if you want to experience the natural beauty of Arkansas. One of the main attractions of Mountain View is getting to the water an enjoying water activities. If you’re not there for water activities, it’s a perfect 10! I usually come to Mountain View for two reasons: 1 – the water, and 2 – the music. You can go downtown (which is about a 3 minute drive from this RV park) any time after about 2 pm and listen to the locals playing their guitars, banjos, fiddles, mandolins, and upright basses. It’s INCREDIBLE!
STAFF:
I think I’ve made it fairly clear already that I’m a big fan of the staff here! They were all friendly, professional, and really seemed to care about their workplace.
We enjoyed this RV park so much, that we decided we’d stay again in 2018 for another music festival. As long as water activities aren’t our priority, we will probably make this our home every time we go to Mountain View from now on!
