RV Upgrades StairsRV upgrades…so many possibilities, so little time! Last year, one of our very best friends made a simple little upgrade to their RV, that I thought maybe I should share here.

This is the same friend I mentioned in the Blackout Curtains post. She’s full of GREAT ideas!!!

So what’s this big change? They changed their outdoor stairs. See…I told you it was simple. But you’re not getting away that easily! We need to talk about it a little bit.

The stairs they had before were factory installed. They functioned…got you from the inside to the outside and vice versa, but they were just flimsy and made the whole camper bounce when you went in and out.

That’s all fine and dandy until one person is sleeping and the other wants to go outside! 🙂

We have considered doing ours, but we plan on upgrading our camper at some point in the near future, so there’s no need.

RV UPGRADES – THE STAIRS

So…in a nutshell, this is one of the simplest RV upgrades you can do.

All this upgrade involves is removing the original transition and installing the new steps…it’s that simple! You don’t even have to remove the old stairs if you don’t want.

RV Upgrades Steps

For reference, here is my step.

Let’s look at what I’m talking about. I have some resources for you, one is an affiliate link to Amazon (please read my affiliate policy here if this concerns you), the others are videos made by the manufacturer.

AMAZON LINK HERE: Please be aware this link is for a 4 step, 30″ step. HERE is a 3 step version (even though the picture is a 4 step!).

CLICK HERE FOR PURCHASING INSTRUCTIONS – How to choose the right steps for you. Here is a link to MORryde’s Amazon store for different sized steps.

Since MORryde makes the steps, we’re going to use their instructional video for the installation process:

What I like about these steps is that you don’t HAVE to remove the old ones.

If you do choose to remove them, though, MORryde has a solution for that, too!

RV UPGRADES – STEP STORAGE BOX

You guessed it, ladies and gents…they made a storage box for where your steps used to live!

It’s my understanding that this box only comes in one size, but I think it’d be totally worth it if you got the stairs!

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THEM

Maybe it’s important to tell you what I like about these steps, huh?

The Step Above steps are sturdy…they DO NOT bounce as you walk on them.

They are also firmly planted on the ground. The feet are adjustable as the video shows, so no matter how far the ground is from your camper, the steps reach.

One of the other things I love about these steps is how quickly they fold up for travel. You just lift them, turn the handle to secure them in place and shut the door!

That’s it!

…and with that folks, I have completed my shortest post ever!!!

We camp with our friends once or twice a month and I REALLY like those steps!

When I get a larger RV, this will most likely be one of my first upgrades! It’s DEFINITELY worth the money spent!!!

What kind of RV upgrades have you done…what’s your fav? Tell us in the comments!
